weekend meal plan
It’s Friday!!! I could not be happier about this. Even though it was a short week, it was a long, long LONG week at work! Tonight my sister and my forever friend and basically other sister, L, are coming for a proper weekend of shopping, cuddling with L’s little babe, endless coffee, visiting, and EATING! So instead of suggesting, “Hey, wanna go out for dinner” all weekend, I thought I’d put together a quick weekend meal plan. Normally weekends are basically free-for-all, but the last three weeks have been that. So no more. Obviously I don’t want to spend the entire weekend in the kitchen, so I’ve put together some pretty easy meals. And if I need to, I can always make my sister chop vegetables – she’ll loooooove that. Sunday you can expect a regular meal plan once again.
Friday:
Chicken Almondine Casserole (family favorite, and can’t go wrong with one of Mom’s faithful recipes!). Besides, it’s definitely time to update the last photograph I have of this:
(I think it’s safe to say my photography has improved just a tad over the last year)
Saturday:
breakfast: depends how motivated I am, but if the coffee is on, perhaps pancakes, fruit and bacon!
lunch: soup and wraps (unless, of course, we are shopping…and the chances are mighty high that we will be!)
dinner: Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo OR the Pioneer Woman’s Asian Noodle Salad with Shrimp…mmmmm that dressing is soooo good! Vote?
Sunday:
lunch: Chicken Curry from The Big Cook (already made AND slow cooker baby!)
dinner: leftovers!
What do your weekend meals usually look like?
I can’t wait to share with you the Chicken Almondine Casserole. It’s one of those guaranteed meals. Something to keep in your little back pocket. I love it. You will too. Happy Friday everyone!
i vote for the shrimp fettecine! no salad for me!
Honey, your vote only counts if you spell fettuccine right 🙂
haha kevin you would
All of that sounds great! Usually I forgo my healthy eating on the weekends (it’s a baaaad habit), especially during football season! My husband and I make a delicious spread of game day eats for the Giants and Jets games!
My weekends are kind of free for alls too…normally I don’t really plan “meals” but sometimes I have things I want to make, or I’ll plan fun breakfasts!
Lol, my apologies to Kevin but I vote for the PW recipe! Personally, we have free for all weekends too. It is fun to be a little spontaneous sometimes, but I definitely plan when we are having guests.
I’m jealous! Wish I was up for a visit too!
You know you’re welcome ANYTIME friend!!!
thanks for feeding me!!
Haha! You’re welcome!
